Bobbie Buie is a Chicago-based scenic and lighting designer. They graduated from Iowa State University in 2025 with a B.A. in Performing Arts and a B.A. in English. Recent credits includes design work at Hope Repertory Theatre, Story Theater Company, and Iowa Stage Theatre Company. Recent accolades include The Cloris Leachman Excellence in Scenic Design nomination for Torch Song with Iowa Stage Theatre Company, and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival National Scenic Design Award for Always Plenty of Light at the All Night Starlight Diner at Iowa State University, directed by Heather Currie. They also freelance across Chicagoland as a carpenter, electrician, and scenic artist. In their free time, they enjoy creative writing, bird watching, and craft beer.
